Crazy farce, which is unfortunately more often mad than it is funny.
The theatre producer Max Bialystock and the accountant Leo Bloom plan a major scam. The will put on a play that will be a certain box office flop, because by overfinancing the play and making sure that the investors will not get any money back, they will make lots of money themselves.
