Invasion of the Body Snatchers from 1978 is the second out of three adaptations of Jack Finney's sci-fi novel. The first one is the most interesting, because it can be interpreted with the Red scare and McCarthyism in mind.
Philip Kaufman's version takes place in a big city, in which the characters played by Donald Sutherland, Brooke Adams, Veronica Cartwright and Jeff Goldblum are soon the only ones who have not had their bodies replaced yet. The film is chilling from beginning to end.
