I fell completely for this wonderful comedy when I saw it at the cinema. Sweet Liberty is both directed and scripted by Alan Alda, who also plays the main character, Professor Burgess.
Burgess is a professor of history whose book about the American Civil War is being made into a film, but the content of the book is a lot different from what the Hollywood director wants to include: sex and destruction. It is always funny to watch a film that satirizes the film industry in Hollywood.
