Enemies, a Love Story is a tragicomic drama about Herman Broder, a Jew, who settles in New York in the late forties with his second wife, Yadwiga. She is the Polish maid who hid Herman from the Nazis. Herman's Jewish wife Tamara and their children are the victims of Holocaust. Beside Yadwiga Herman has a mistress, the sexy and hot-tempered Masha. Driven by guilt Herman tries to keep his women happy, but when Tamara turns up alive, the task he has set himself becomes impossible.
Interesting and powerful characters, but it is slightly annoying that their motives often seem illogical.
