Review

The author Jan Guillou's action hero Carl Hamilton is the Swedish equivalent of Ian Fleming's 007, but compared to the carefree, nonchalant womanizer Bond, Guillou's character seems more down-to-earth and realistic. This also goes for the film itself, including the settings, which are more tough than they are colourful and exotic. This realistic style is refreshing, but apart from that Hamilton is not much different from any other entertaining thriller.

When the Swedish intelligence service gets wind of some unknown terrorists' plan to smuggle a stolen Russion nuclear missile across the border to Sweden, Hamilton and his men receive orders to stop the terrorists and to leave no trace of the operation. This job turns out to be much easier than expected - perhaps too easy?
