Den Blå Munk

Review
Den Blå Munk (The Blue Monk) is not just the title of this film, but also the name of the pub where the episodic story takes place.
The film might as well have been a stage play as the setting never changes and the dialogue seems to have been the filmmaker's first priority. The excellent dialogue does not fully make up for the lack of plot. That could have been excused in a play, but not in a feature film.
Helle and Anita are more than just waitresses. They are also comforters and psychologists for the many lost souls in The Blue Monk. Some of the bar guests would like a more personal, ie physical, relationship to the pretty new waitress Anita, but she tries to keep a professional distance to her admirers.
