Music from Another Room

In the romantic drama Music from Another Room Danny, who grew up in England, returns to the USA, the country of his birth, where he meets the Swan family again. The Swans were close friends of his dead parents', and little Danny helped Grace Swan give birth to her daughter Anna under extraordinary circumstances many years ago. Then he swore that he would marry Anna, and that he has not forgotten.

The family which is plagued by illness, blindness and occasional fits of madness need the resourceful and sensible Anna to take charge, which she has done, but to such an extent that reason has evicted impulse and passion from her life.

Interesting portrayal of an extraordinary family, but the message of the film is just too naive and it is hammered into our consciousness in a way that can hardly be described as subtle.
