The Daughter of D'Artagnan is a zestful adventure comedy which expands on Alexandre Dumas' classic story of the three musketeers.
The years have passed, and D'Artagnan's only daughter, Eloise, has grown up to be a beautiful and brave woman with a mind of her own, much to the distress of her ageing father.
When the prioress in the nunnery where Eloise has been brought up is killed by the Duke of Crassac and his men, Eloise assumes that the prioress knew too much. After finding a scrap of paper which may prove vital in discovering the true nature of an imminent conspiracy against King Louis, she hastes to Paris to ask her father for help, but how much help is an old musketeer who has fallen from the King's favour?
The film's depiction of its flawed heroine/heroes is especially rewarding and serves as an ironic comment on the flawless heroes of most action and adventure movies.
