England 1814: Anne Elliot has not seen Captain Wentworth for seven years when she meets him again. Seeing him brings back painful memories and long suppressed feelings because Anne is still in love with the man she was forced to reject in her youth. He was not considered good enough for her. Now the situation has reversed as Anne's family is pressed for money while the captain has become a wealthy man.
