Down to You

Down to You is a romantic youth film with a minimal plot. The film is about a guy and a girl, Al and Imogen, who find each other at college, split up with a bang, but get back together a few years later when they realise that they are still hopelessly in love. Not much more happens in the film.

The leads are likeable, but the supporting characters are stereotypes, mainly tiresome figures who do not even move the plot forward. So there are no great conflicts, malicious villains or scheming women here, just a bit of perfectly ordinary insecurity and confusion of the kind so many young people experience. That is not quite enough to spin a story out of.
