Legally Blonde

Legally Blonde, with the corny Danish title Blondinens hævn (The Blonde's Revenge), is a sweet and snappy comedy about the blonde Elle Woods, who behind her looks and her blonde mannerisms turns out not to be so dumb after all.

Elle gets an unpleasant surprise when her perfect boyfriend Warner Huntington dumps her because he is going to Boston to study law at the prestigious Harvard University. A superficial blonde from Beverly Hills does not fit into Warner's career plans. Instead he goes for a girl from one of the old and politically influential East Coast families.

Once Elle has recovered from the shock, she decides to win her boyfriend back. How hard can it be? She even gets accepted at Harvard too, but nobody takes her seriously - at least not to begin with. Only in a complicated murder case does she get the chance to put all scepticism to shame, displaying all her intelligence and sharp-wittedness.

Legally Blonde is no profound film, but it works well on its own terms, and Reese Witherspoon is hard to resist in the role of the clever blonde.
