Flirting with Disaster

Flirting with Disaster is an overwrought comedy about a new father, Mel Coplin, who insists on meeting his real parents. His wife Nancy feels neglected because of Mel's excessive interest in his roots, and his parents are afraid of being pushed aside. Together with the adoption psychologist Tina Kalb and his family, Mel travels right across the USA to seek out his mother. It becomes a moving reunion, until it turns out that a mistake has been made. When Mel at long last meets his parents, Mary and Richard Schlichting, things are complicated by the fact that the travelling party has picked up a couple of Nancy's friends along the way. Both are in the police drugs squad, and drugs are precisely what the Schlichting family makes its living from.

Flirting with Disaster has its funny moments, but often it is above all tiresome, just like all the characters. An acceptable hangover video.
