Doc Hollywood

Doc Hollywood is a cheerful little comedy starring the charming and unpretentious Michael J. Fox as the surgeon Dr. Ben Stone, who flees a stressful and underpaid job to head for the West Coast and join the well-paid staff of the fashionable plastic surgeon Dr. Halberstrom. At first, however, Ben and his flashy car get stranded in Grady, a sleepy little squash-growing town in the South, where he is sentenced to 20 hours of community service as a doctor for a car accident in which the only casualties are Ben's car and local judge Evans's new fence. Ben will do anything to leave Grady as quickly as possible, until he gradually becomes captivated by the small town's drowsy charm and, not least, by the young female ambulance driver Lou.

It all ends with Ben getting his dream job in the bloodless business of plastic surgery for an unmentionable fee, but he has to realise that it is a different lifestyle and one particular woman that alone can make him a happy man.
