Dead-Bang is a violent action-thriller directed by the veteran John Frankenheimer, who has made better films than this one. Still, it has some entertainment value.
Don Johnson, who everybody knows as the cool police detective Sonny Crockett in the TV-series "Miami Vice", plays the anti-hero Jerry Beck whose life is a mess. His wife has left him, he is not allowed to see his children, his economy is characterized by unpaid bills, and the young woman, Linda, he meets at a party, refuses to see him again. Then a policeman is killed when trying to arrest a murder suspect. This murder case, which turns out to be just a small part of a much bigger case, takes Jerry's mind of his problems while trailing the murderer and his associates across the Midwest. The story is based on true events.
