Switchback

Switchback is yet another thriller about a hunt for a serial killer, but although we have seen it times before and the story is a bit far-fetched, the film is still worth watching. For one thing the casting is quite inventive. For instance Dennis Quaid, who is often cast as the boisterous type, plays FBI agent Frank LaCrosse. He is a serious man of few words who is untiring in his efforts to catch the killer. Frank LaCrosse has a very good reason for being more determined than everybody else: the killer has kidnapped his son. In general the characters in Switchback appear more nuanced and believable than the characters one usually meets in this genre.
