Blade

Blade is based on the characters of a comic, and it shows. The film itself is like a comic. It is pure fun. The settings are extravagant, the characters are one-dimensional, the special effects are impressive, and the pace leaves you not much time for catching your breath.

Blade is a daywalker, a being halfway between vampire and human. His mother died when giving birth to Blade. She was bitten by a vampire, which is why Blade has become a vampire killer. Blade is equipped with weapons by Whistler, an older man who also raised him. Karen, a young doctor, also helps him fight Deacon Frost, a young up-and-coming leader of the vampires, who has big plans for his race.
