You've Got M@il

You've Got M@il is based on an old classic, "The Shop around the Corner", in which a man and a woman get to know each other through letters without meeting each other in person. Nora Ephron has brought the story up to date as her main characters chat on the internet.

As in another likable romantic comedy by Ephron, Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan also play the couple who fall in love. Meg Ryan plays Kathleen Kelly who owns a small children's bookshop, but she is threatened by Joe Fox from Fox & Sons who opens a huge bookstore nearby. At a party Kathleen and Joe are introduced to each other, but not surprisingly they can't stand each other. On the internet where they are unaware of each other's identities, it is a different matter.
