Review

Baby Doom is a slight comedy about Max, a computer geek, and Nicoline, a chef, whose lives are turned upside-down when Nicoline gives birth to their son Emil. The young couple soon finds out that taking care of two careers and one baby with colic is a bit more than they can handle.

Even if the comedy is episodic and superficial, it has enough to recommend it. The precise humour of Baby Doom is primarily aimed at two things: the expanding computer world and the babyboomers' desperate attempts to combine children and careers. The characters, not least the ones in the smaller parts, are quite enjoyable to watch too. This goes especially for Ulrich Thomsen's hedonistic bachelor Magnus.
