Regeneration

Regeneration is a faithful adaptation of Pat Barker's extraordinarily gripping novel about jingoism during WW1, the effects of war on the young soldiers and the clear-sighted war poets who wrote about the madness.

As in the book, the psyachiatrist Dr. Rivers and two of his patients, the brave and bold war poet and war hero Sigfried Sassoon and the charming, but shellshocked soldier Billy Pryor, are the central characters. Both Jonathan Pryce, James Wilby and Jonny Lee Miller are excellent in the difficult parts.
