Review
It is impossible not to become totally wrapped up in the fascinating and atmospheric world of Tim Burton's poetic and humourous Gothic tale Sleepy Hollow, which is not surprisingly a visual treat.
In the year of 1799 young policeman Ichabod Crane is sent from New York to a hamlet up north, Sleepy Hollow, in order to solve a murder mystery.
For no obvious reasons several people have recently had their heads chopped off in the area of the village. The locals are convinced that the perpetrator is the headless Hessian horseman, a cruel mercenary, who has risen from the dead, but Ichabod Crane is not superstitious. He is certain that there is a natural, rational explanation. Yet, the longer he stays in Sleepy Hollow, the more uncertain his certainty becomes.
