Un héros très discret (A Self-Made Hero) is a witty and slightly satiric drama about a young Frenchman, Albert Dehousse, who invents a heroic past for himself in WW2. In fact Albert was not in the least connected with the resistance movement, but he creates such a credible fictitious web around himself that everybody - well almost everybody - is convinced of his brave acts during the war.
A thought-provoking film about how our common history can be manipulated and interpreted.
