Dogma is a farce about Catholic dogmas and religious strife.
Loki and Bartleby are two angles who have been expelled from Paradise. Now they find a way of getting back by way of a church in New Jersey. If they succeed, all of God's creation will come to an end, so of course they have to be stopped. The difficult task is assigned to Bethany, an Illinois abortion-clinic worker, who has no clue what to do, but luckily she is assisted by Rufus, the thirteenth apostle, the muse Serendipity and the odd couple Jay and Silent Bob.
I did not really take to the film's sense of humour - or the lack of it. I much prefer director and scriptwriter Kevin Smith's earlier films "Clerks" and "Chasing Amy", because they made me laugh.
