Sober and overlong drama about the relationship between the black and the white population in the USA, back in the 60s when the civil rights movement was at its height and today when racial discrimination is illegal, but blacks and whites still live apart.
Bobby Delaughter, a prosecutor working for the DA in Mississippi, agrees to reopen a case of a murder that happened 30 years ago when a black civil rights leader was shot. His murderer, a white racist with friends in high places, was found, but never convicted. Not surprisingly, DeLaughter meets with much resistance.
