Jaws is an effective thriller about a killer shark that finds a new hunting ground in the sea off the coast of a island resort in the north eastern USA. The local businesspeople led by Mayor Vaughn would like to hush the problem up to prevent scaring off the summer guests, but after another death the danger can no longer be ignored.
The second part of the film takes place at sea where the local chief of police Martin Brody, marine biologist Matt Hooper and shark hunter Quint try to kill the hungry and malevolent shark which turns out to be the size of a huge whale.
The briliant editing and John Williams' classic score only add to the tense and scary atmosphere.
