In Romeo Must Die the youngest son of Ch'u Sing, a Chinese mafiaboss, becomes a victim in the gang war between a Chinese and an African-American gang led by Isaak O'Day.
Romeo is Ch'u's eldest son Han who breaks out from a Hong Kong prison when he hears the bad news. The moment after his arrival in the USA he bumps into his Juliet, the beautiful Trish, who turns out to be the daughter of none other than Isaak O'Day. This is complicated, indeed, and it gets even more so as Han and Trish try to find out who is actually responsible for the brutal bloodshedding.
Romeo Must Die has spectacular martial arts sequences, but the film is overlong considering the simple story it is telling. This is also a love story, but where is the chemistry, not to mention the kiss, between the leads?
