Judging from such movies as Out of Sight, "Jackie Brown" and "Get Shorty", adapting Elmore Leonard's novels is foolproof. All of the above movies are characterized by an unpredictable crime story with a group of interesting and slightly excentric characters.
In Out of Sight, Steven Soderbergh's glamourous and romantic interpretation of Leonard's universe, a female cop, Karen Sisco, and a charming bankrobber, Jack Foley, are attracted to each other at a very inconvenient time - during Jack's attempted escape from a prison in Florida. From that moment on Karen is chasing him, but is she seriously trying to catch him?
Out of Sight is Soderbergh's most mainstream film before "Erin Brockovich".
