Robert Donat won an Oscar for the title role of Mr. Chips, who devotes his life to the boys in the bording school where he works all his life. The film deals with his change from a shy and strict young teacher to a mature headmaster, who is humanized by his loving wife.
This film is a classic, but it does seem antiquated today.
