Myrna Loy plays the libeled lady of the title. She, the young and wealthy Connie Allenbury, sues a newspaper for libel. The newspaper simply can't afford to lose, so the editor (Spencer Tracy) devises a plan for getting Miss Allenbury to drop the lawsuit.
Time has not been particularly kind to Libeled Lady; for example the tone is rather shrill throughout the comedy, and there is simply too much talk.
