A Perfect Murder is based on the same play as Alfred Hitchcock's "Dial M for Murder", so a comparison is unavoidable. As far as I can see, the differences are considerable, but if you get the chance, see for yourself.
Steven and Emily Taylor, a wealthy and fashinable couple, are unhappy in their marriage, so Emily secretly takes a lover, David Shaw. Steven, though, is smarter than she thinks and also in a lot more trouble than she knows of. David gets an offer he can't refuse, $500.000 for murdering Emily!
A Perfect Murder is a clever and unpredictable thriller, but it fails in making believable characters of flesh and blood. Instead Steven, Emily, and David are one-dimensional characters that one really cares a fig for.
