Den sidste viking (The Last Viking) takes place about a thousand years ago. Harald is left behind with his mother and retarded brother Bjarke when his father, the chief of the village, leaves with his men to rebel against the king. The chief has barely left before the king's men invade the village. Harald's only hope is that his father will come back and free the villagers.
Den sidste viking may sound like an adventure story, but it is more realistic than that. It is not a black and white universe with noble warriors and mean scoundels, which is why children may not like it and adults might. The settings are quite realistic too; maybe overly realistic with their dominating grey and brown tones.
