Angie is a thinly and episodically plotted drama, but to a large degree the presence of a sparkling Geena Davis in the title role makes up for the shortcomings of the manuscript.
Angie is a young woman who decides that there must be something better in life for her than marrying Vinnie, a nice and ordinary working Joe, she has been dating since time immemorial. The only problem is that she is pregnant with his baby, but Angie is a free-spirited girl who feels the need to steer clear of the conventional life she has been leading until now.
The men in Angie are not exactly portrayed as scumbags, but a few of them are not made to appear particularly sympathetic. And with the sentimental sequences in mind I can only conclude that the film will appeal more to women than to men.
