Den eneste ene (The One and Only) is a nearly perfect romantic comedy.
Sus is not keen on becoming pregnant, but her Italian husband Sonny persuades her. Niller and Lizzie cannot have children, so they decide to adopt one. Sus thinks that Sonny is the best thing that has happened to her, but he is not. Niller is quite satisfied with his life with Lizzie although she bullies him all the time. Neither Sus nor Niller have found the one and only, but they are about to in this extremely funny and heart-warming film.
Den eneste ene introduces a lot of familiar types and problems from everyday life. Still the film does not claim to be realistic. For instance the characters border on types, but the actors manage to maintain a balance.
Plotline, visuals, acting, timing; all of that seems to combine into a wonderful synthesis.
