The Mummy is an action-packed adventure movie that has borrowed quite a lot from earlier movies about the monster and also Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones movies.
In ancient Egypt the high priest Imhotep is buried alive in Hamunaptra, the city of the dead, because he and his beloved, the Pharao's mistress, have killed the Pharao. From this time on Hamunaptra is cursed.
In the 1920s the American adventurer Rick O'Connell, the beautiful English librarian Evelyn and her brother Jonathan rediscover the city of the dead, and then the fun begins.
The Mummy has no style whatsoever, but it is a rollercoaster ride of fun, horror, entertainment and magnificent special effects.
