Texasville is a sequel to "The Last Picture Show" (1971). The little, dusty prairie town is the same. So are characters. The only difference is that they have grown older. An important theme in Texasville are the passing of time and getting old(er), and maybe that nothing really changes.
The ones that were young in the 50s (and in the first movie) are now middle-aged with teenage kids of their own. Duane and Karla Jackson have lots of money and lots of kids, but their love seems to have died out. What is going to happen when Duane's old high-school sweetheart, Jacy Farrow, returns to Texasville?
Texasville has an episodic structure. Some of the episodes are sad while others are almost farcical.
